See yourself in our team:

Here in Retail Banking Services Risk Management, we are looking for a Credit Risk Analyst to help drive insights and automation. You'll be part of the Retail Analytics and Insights team who analyse movements in credit risk metrics across all retail portfolios and generate data driven insights to structure context.

Do work that matters:

Risk Management is responsible for protecting the Group's and Bankwest's interests by offering insightful risk leadership and a commercial yet independent approach to managing risks. The Board and Regulators trust Risk Management to be the line of defence that ensures returns are achieved within an acceptable level of risk.

On a day to day basis you will:

  • Generate data driven insights via data extraction, manipulation, merging, validation using analytical tools e.g. SQL, R, Python, SAS, Tableau and Excel.

  • Collaborate with multiple teams across the Group such as Retail Product, Finance, and Investor Relations to generate and succinctly articulate credit risk insights for inclusion in Profit Announcement disclosures.

  • Deep dives into credit risks within and between portfolios.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives such as data and process optimisation, insight visualisation, risk segment identification, and more insightful and simpler reporting.

We are interested in hearing from people who have:

  • Analytics skills - ability to interrogate data and recognise patterns, anomalies, or statistical trends in complex data to generate actionable value-add insights using statistical/data tools.

  • Previous experience or knowledge with analytics tools such as R, SQL or SAS, Tableau and optionally Python.

  • Practical experience in manipulating and visualising large and complex datasets.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to break down complex technical concepts and explain them to a diverse audience.

  • A degree in business, finance or a relevant quantitative discipline such as mathematics, actuarial sciences, or statistics.

  • Creative thinking, can handle change and deadlines.
